Dear Parent and Carers Year 3 – ‘Sensible Pencil Art Workshop’. The children in Year 3 will be taking part in an Art workshop run by ‘Sensible Pencil’ Chrissy Marshall, who specialises in drawing caricatures and cartoons. This will be a fantastic way of supporting Year 3’s topic for Spring term 1 - ‘Superheroes’, showing the children how to build cartoons from the characters they have imagined. Chrissy will begin with a class group assembly; he will then work with individual classes, exploring the children’s character ideas before teaching them how to draw their own pictures. There will be time at the end of each session for Chrissy to engage with the children as they draw, offering tips, encouragement and advice. Our aim is that each child has begun a number of sketches to work on at a later date. We are hoping to display the children’s fabulous art work in the hall to celebrate their work on this new topic.
