Friday 6th November
Our coach has just arrived and we are due to depart between 11.30am and 12pm. We have all had a fantastic time and it has been a pleasure to see our superstars grow in confidence throughout the week. Expect to see us around the usual school home time of 3.25pm - we will keep in touch with the school office as much as possible if this time is likely to change by more than 10-15 minutes.
See you soon!

Thursday 5th November
Good evening! Apologies for the late bulletin, we've been enjoying our spectacular fireworks show - many thanks for the contributions towards what has been a great evening for all of us. Please find a selection of our highlights from today - we'll post a final bulletin tomorrow when we're leaving...along with unclaimed lost property!

Wednesday 4th November
The weather has started to turn soggy today, but it hasn't dampened our spirits one little bit. That said, we've all been worse than damp on activities throughout the day! Not only that, but we've been entertaining some of Sandwell's councillors, who drove up to see the centre and had a chat with some of our children - they were a credit to our school and to all of you! Our 'New Experiences' theme is really taking shape; jumping into lakes, abseiling, canoeing, darting in and out of mines - what more could you ask for?!
Look out for tomorrow's update a little later than usual, as we'll be lighting up the valley with our Bonfire Night celebrations... Mrs. Flanagan, have your 'Firework Clap' at the ready!

'Today was even better, we went canoeing. We paddled over to Elephant Rock and jumped off it - we were drenched but it was still great fun. We also went abseiling - that was fun, but canoeing was better!'
(Alanna Slim, 6M)
'WOW! There are three things to say about today - wet, cold and daredevilish! I conquered my fear of heights by abseiling down a slippery rock face. Then in the afternoon we made our way to Llyn Gwynant. We canoed all the way to the other side of the lake. Once on the other side we climbed onto a huge rock named Elephant Rock (it was called Elephant Rock because it was shaped like an elephant). Then we jumped into the freezing cold water and I froze like an icicle! After we had gotten over the shock of our lives we canoed back to shore for a well earned hot dinner.'
(Chloe Eaton, 6M)
'Today we went for a walk up a mountain. The jagged rocks were muddy and wet. Later on during the day we went into the forest in search of a gingerbread house. I fell into a puddle of mud. Simi fell face down into a puddle of mud. It was a really hot day'.
(Mia Patel, 6S)
'We went to the beach. We went in a minibus. We went across the rocks. When Kev said "Turn back", I turned in mid climb, Lydia trod on my fingers, I let go and landed in the sea! We had some great fun. We then went to a waterfall. We all stood at the bottom wandering why we had been stuffed into waterproofs. We then realised. Later, when we had climbed the waterfall, we were told we can drink the water.'
(Emily Allen, 6P)
Tuesday 3rd November 2015
Our four groups have got stuck into life at Plas today, with daily duties in the morning (don't believe them when they say they don't know what a vacuum cleaner is), through to some hair raising activities around Snowdonia. There's a brief glimpse into Tuesday's antics above - hope you like looking at the photos as much as we enjoyed creating the memories! We thought you might also like to read about what we think of the place from the mouths of our very own bunch of Bear Grylls wannabes. Enjoy!

Monday 2nd November 2015
We have all arrived safely here at Plas Gwynant in the glorious sunshine, and have spent the afternoon rolling in the puddles and walking through the rivers! The weather is beautiful and we've seen some stunning views. Tonight's night walk saw us lying on a bridge in the middle of a road staring into space - the stars out here are breath taking!
Please keep looking back at the website every day and we will try to update after activities every night.
Thanks for all your support this morning to see everyone off, more to follow from us (and the kids) tomorrow.

Plas Gwynant 2015 - here we go again!
As the Plas Gwynant residential is nearly upon us, here are a few helpful points for parents/carers and children alike!
1. The coach will leave school at around 9am on Monday morning (2nd November). Children will need to be at school at normal time (gates open at approximately 8.30am), when they will be able to bring their bags into the main hall. We will aim to return to school for 3.25pm on Friday afternoon (6th November), traffic dependent.
2. Any medication of any kind, whether it needs to be taken on a regular basis or intermittently, needs to be handed to a member of staff on Monday morning, clearly labelled with your child's name, what the medicine is, and when it needs to be taken. If your child is taking anti-biotics and they need to be refrigerated, please make this clear on the label also.
3. We have made it clear to pupils that no electronic devices of any kind are allowed on residential, as there will be no time for children to make use of them, and mobile phone signal is non-existent.
4. A full kit list is available at http://plasgwynant.org.uk/group-organisers/ under 'Student Kit List'. Plas Gwynant will be able to provide all children with a fleece, waterproofs and wellington boots upon arrival, so if children don't have these already, please don't feel the need to go out and buy any specially!
5. Remember to bring a packed lunch for the journey to Plas on Monday. Please make sure sandwiches are in a plastic lunchbox that will protect lunches when out on activities during the week.
We are greatly looking forward to our visit to Plas and will hopefully keep you updated here on how we are getting on throughout the week. Watch this space!
