‘Year 3 – Greek Day’ on Tuesday 13^th January 2026

 

As part of our History topic of Ancient Greece, Year 3 will be having an Ancient Greek person from ‘The History Guy’ who will be visiting Year 3 on Tuesday 13^th January 2026 to immerse the children in a range of history activities. 

This exciting experience will involve: handling artefacts; dressing up; looking at a typical day of Ancient Greek and looking at what life would be like for them during this historical era. We believe that it will provide a stimulating insight to life during Ancient Greece. The children will also create and make a shield which they will then be able to take home with them.

Dressing up for this day is optional, but it is fun for the children to come to school with some kind of ‘Ancient Greek’ costume in order to get the most out of the history immersion experience.  Humans from this era would have worn clothing made out of linen or wool. You don’t need to buy any expensive costumes, but adapt what you already have at home.

We are asking for a contribution of £6.26 towards the cost of this event.  Please refer to our Charging Policy for further details.  Please log onto your child’s ParentPay account to enable you to make payment for this visit and give your consent by Wednesday 3^rd December 2025.  

We are certain that the children will greatly benefit from this opportunity and will enjoy the experience.  We hope that you will continue to support us throughout the year as we strive for the best opportunities for our children to enhance their learning in and out of school.

As the weather is cold, please ensure the children have adequate warm clothes for going outside. 

Have a look at some photos of Ancient Greek costumes and try and copy some of the ideas – you don’t need to buy any expensive costumes, but be creative with what you already have at home.
