Crumpets Toasted On The Fire!

Reception had a very exciting forest school today – their first ever fire!
Everyone listened carefully to the safety rules and kept themselves safe as Mrs K lit the flames. Then it was choosing time! Some children decided to stay nearby, chatting and watching while Mrs K cooked tasty crumpets over the fire.
The forest was full of activity and laughter. Little pumpkins from Mrs Jones’ garden were painted in bright colours, potions were mixed to make new shades, and dens were built deep among the trees. There was digging, creating in the mud kitchen, balancing on the slack line, bird feeder making, sand pit adventures, and lots of exploring natural treasures.
Imaginative play was everywhere, and the highlight was gathering together to share crumpets and a biscuit around the warm fire. A brilliant session! Next week will be RHG’s last in this block, but they’ll be back with Mrs K and the forest in the spring term.
