Helping the Birds!

What an amazing Wednesday our 1P had out in the forest!

We began by refreshing our knot-tying skills — and everyone did brilliantly. Once we were confident, we put those knots to good use, creating a wonderful range of bird feeders. There were bagel bird feeders, fruity apple ones, colourful kebabs, sticky pine cone feeders, and even some tucked neatly into orange peel! The birds are certainly in for a treat with all those tasty creations.

Our forest adventures didn’t stop there. The children had a fantastic time blowing giant bubbles, balancing on the slack line, digging for treasure in the sand pit, moving logs for the dead hedge, and building imaginative dens. They also worked together to spot birds and design some lovely new signs for our forest areas — real teamwork in action!

We rounded off our busy day by gathering around the fire circle for a well-earned snack and a drink. It was such a joy to see the children exploring, creating, and working together in nature. We can’t wait for our next forest session!
