Eco Council Meeting Update: Aiming for the Young Green Tree Award
Our Eco Council recently met in the bell tent, where we set our sights on an exciting new goal: working towards the Young Green Tree Award. This award, run by the Woodland Trust, encourages schools to complete environmental projects and collect points, progressing through bronze, silver, and gold levels up to platinum.
During our meeting, we reviewed the points both the infant and junior sites have gained so far. We were pleased to see that the infant site has already achieved the bronze award—a fantastic start and a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
To build on this success, we looked up our tree equity and conducted a tree survey of the forest school area. This hands-on activity gave us a clearer picture of the trees on our grounds and helped us plan our next steps for conservation and tree planting. We then drafted the emails to send to the woodland trust to log our new points.
We’re excited to continue our journey, earn more points, and make our school environment even greener. Stay tuned for more updates as we work towards the Young Green Tree Award!
