Friday 10th June
And we’re off!
See you soon.
Thursday 9th June
Good morning!
Everyone us up,dressed, washed and fed ready for another day of adventures.
We will update again this evening as soon as we can.
Another fun filled day so far.
It started with with the children either using their orienteering skills on a Treasure Hunt or investigating as Woodland Detectives.
After lunch it was time was bushcraft skills or a visit to the mines and the blindfold walk. Even though it rained a little, the children gave it their all. Be prepared for a muddy wash when the children return. But I hope you agree, a muddy child is a happy child on occasions like this.
Here’s a further selection of more fun today!
Wednesday 8th June
Wow, what a day!
We arrived to glorious sunshine and the children were full of excitement as they carried their cases into the centre.
The staff gave us a tour of the grounds and settled the children into the accommodation. Then the activities began…..
After lunch the children had some free time and burned off some energy in their own play area.
Next, half of the children went for an adventure in the woods, just as the rain started! But this didn’t dampen their spirits. It was a team building blind walk. The children worked brilliantly in pairs directing their partners in blindfolds, under and over ropes, through a stream and back up the hills. There was lots of slips and slides- but even more smiles.
Next we were off to the mines to look for treasure!
The other children headed off in the opposite direction for their bushcrafts. Children were building dens, lighting fires and tasted Damper bread.
After even more food, we set off on a magical walk to the wishing tree. Followed by hot chocolate and cookies.
