1P make some smelly potions

What a fantastic Forest School morning we had with our Year One explorers!
The children were full of excitement as we created our very own sensory potions in the forest. The mix of smells was incredible—especially when some clever potion makers discovered fresh lemon balm, rosemary, and lavender!
During choosing time, the fun continued as we used our senses to explore pumpkins, experiment with sounds using water and different objects, and concoct all sorts of smelly potions. There was building with guttering, treasure hunting in the sandpit, lots of digging, bark moving, and of course plenty of muddy adventures in the mud kitchen!
Some children also got hands-on with real tools—using palm drills and bit and brace drills to make their own conker cards. It was a joyful morning full of creativity, problem-solving, and laughter in our beautiful forest.
