Nursery’s Third Forest School Session: A Day of Discovery and Fun

Our nursery children had an absolutely wonderful time during their third forest school session! The forest was alive with laughter and curiosity as the children explored a wide range of engaging activities designed to spark creativity and a love for nature.

From the start, little hands were busy with dough, mixing in leaves, petals, and twigs to create imaginative shapes. Water play was a big hit, with children experimenting with guttering to make streams and rivers, and giggling as they made giant bubbles float through the air. The sand pit became a hub for digging and building, while the mud kitchen inspired some very messy (and very fun!) potion making, squirting, and splashing.

Children also enjoyed the obstacle course, testing their balance and coordination, and got creative making beautiful peg butterflies and beaded worms to take home. Adventurous explorers went on mini-beast hunts, searching under logs and leaves for tiny forest creatures, and others took part in sawing, splitting, and hammering to craft their very own wooden slugs.

At the end of the session, everyone gathered together for a well-deserved biscuit. The children shared their favourite moments, celebrating a morning filled with teamwork, creativity, and outdoor adventure.
