RB-Session 3

Our third Forest School session brought another lovely dry, sunny morning among the trees

. The children continued to grow in confidence as they explored the area, moved independently between activities and eagerly shared their discoveries.

We learned how to use the hammocks safely and enjoyed a lively game of Stick, Stick, Fire. We are also practising how to keep ourselves safe in and around the fire circle. At the end of the session, everyone enjoyed biscuits and squash together.

During choosing time, Mrs K worked with children who were learning to use a bow saw. We will continue this next week, with the aim that every child will have had the opportunity to use one by the end of this first block of Forest School.

There was wonderful creativity everywhere: potion-making, bubbly mixtures, mud-kitchen “recipes” and giant tarp mark-making using plungers, washing-up brushes and feathers on sticks. The water guttering and boats prompted lots of investigation too, as children poured, tested and watched where the water travelled.

It was a joyful morning full of communication, creativity, exploration and opportunities to develop important motor skills.  next week we will be having a small fire and in our final session we will all be toasting vegan smores!
