We began together in the tent, creating a rainstorm using our bodies as musical instruments. The children listened carefully, built up the sounds brilliantly and worked together as a team to make the storm come alive.  We only took a few photos, we were busy having lots of fun!

There was lots of imaginative, creative play throughout the session. The potion-making area was especially popular, with children using natural materials, scissors, pestles and mortars to create some wonderfully smelly mixtures. Many children made “teas” in the mud kitchen—although one particularly powerful potion apparently turned Mrs K into a frog!

The fish, boats, water and guttering inspired plenty of investigation and storytelling. Children also enjoyed listening to stones travelling through pipes and along the guttering, tackling the obstacle course, balancing on the slack-line, playing in the sandpit and using the stone food made by last year’s Year 1 children.

There were great conversations, energetic games of chase, collaboration and problem-solving all around the site. This week, we enjoyed biscuits back in class after getting changed and ready for home.
