We’re here! Everybody has unpacked, had a tour of the site, completed a fire drill (fantastically), had lunch and enjoyed some free time! Some of us played football, some went on the rope swing and some played on the tyres. We are now starting our afternoon activity in our groups.
Afternoon activities
This afternoon, two groups have been orienteering and one group has been pond dipping. We then went back and learnt how to make our beds - this was very interesting but very fun! Some of the children turned in to bed sheet monsters!
Evening activities
After making our beds, we tucked into our delicious dinner then prepared for our evening walk. The weather has been lovely today but Kat (the group leader) still managed to find us lots of mud! The children made a wish at the magic tree, then trudged through a swamp and crawled under branches, covering themselves in mud! They had a brilliant time and enjoyed talking about it over a hot chocolate and biscuit!
The children then come up for a hot shower and prepared for bed. Fingers crossed, they all have a good night sleep ready for tomorrow’s antics!
Unfortunately, due to internet connection, we won’t be uploading any photos until we are back but we will keep you up to date by writing on here.
Tuesday 25th June
Well we have woken up to a very wet morning but that won’t stop us! The children slept brilliantly - we think the muddy walk last night did it’s job! We all got ready, went downstairs to breakfast and got togged up in waterproof clothing ready for the morning activities. One group have been pond dipping and two groups have been woodland detectives around the forest.
Afternoon activities
After another lovely lunch, we are all setting up again for another activity. The children are wrapped up in waterproofs again and are currently enjoying some free time on the field. Soon we will be venturing off on another adventure: one group pond dipping, one group orienteering and one group being woodland detectives.
Our final night!
Each group has now completed 3 activities and the children have been amazing! They have got stuck in and challenged themselves in everything they have done! A fantastic effort from everybody! Following dinner, the children have got into their pyjamas and packed their suitcases ready to leave tomorrow. They are all now enjoying a film and picking their gift shop goodies!
Wednesday 27th June
The children all settled really well and had a good night sleep. They are currently stripping their beds, putting the last bits in their suitcase and getting ready for breakfast. We have a bushcraft activity today where we shall be building dens and making fires.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
